Hey, remember how in the book (JP) Arnold dies...? The only trace of him we do see towards the end of the movie is when Ellie goes to put the power on, the arm falls onto her shoulder. Here it kinda becomes obvous that he's dead (remember that Raptor in there which chases after Ellie...?).
I'm assuming that the same happened to Wu. He must have been told to put the power on, but never returned. Then again, I'm only guessing...
Random Fact: DID YOU KNOW... that the actor that plays Henry Wu in JP did a voiceover for a character in the Disney animated movie, Mulan?

i doubt anyone tried to get the power back on before Arnold's attempt. Everyone was too preoccupied with escaping the island and trying to figure out what the heck was going on. The only hint at what happens to Wu is when he says he wanted the eggs to hatch before he headed over to the docks. We can't assume anything, but it's most likely he got out of there on one of the boats.nissin wrote:He must have been told to put the power on, but never returned.
The plan to turn the power on came about after they shut the entire system off. Nobody knew how to get it back on without Nedry before that time. Nobody else would've tried beforehand.

With the exception of Grant and the kids, anyone who was in the control room when the power was turned off were the only people on the island. Wu wasn't there because he left the island the night before. (Wu stated he was going to the docks; it's okay to assume he went to the docks and left.)
Also, although the movie and book are indeed different, they're very far from being fundamentally different. I'm willing to say that the JP book and JPIII were fundamentally different, but a novel adaptation is by definition not fundamentally different than the source.
Finally, since this is a JP forum, isn't it a little redundant to have a thread to talk about interesting JP stuff?

I watched JP yesterday, and here's what I got out of the film.
When Hammond is showing the team around the lab, they come in to see Doctor Wu. Alan has a look at the eggs, and notices one moving.
Henry Wu says "Ah, perfect timing. I was hoping they'd hatch before I had to go on the boat"*
*note: my quotes are something along the lines of that*
Anyway, so in conclusion from that, he must have gone to dock not too long after that baby raptor hatched (likely before the next 24hours).
Sorry, but I just had to add onto ChanceKell's reply.

Actually, I think Ellie was the only other character who must gone to put the power back on - after Ray Arnold didn't return.
I'm guessing that scene of Arnold wasn't added in due to time limitations for the filming time. But it was still put into the film (just the bit with the arm falling onto Ellie).

you guys pretty much repeated what i said in my post, except you used more details. *shrugs*
As for Arnold having a scene of turning the power on, it's most likely it was written the way it was to just show his remains. The original JP (and TLW as well) had a sense of mystery to it. When someone was attacked, they never showed too much carnage. They just hinted at what happened to them and let your imagination run wild. It's a type of movie art that works very nicely in my opinion. Not showing Arnold being..well..eaten....it increases suspense as they're waiting for his return. Showing just his arm increases even more suspense as you start to think "oh my...Ellie's in BIG trouble now..."
