Just saw it last night. While not the best movie ever made it was WELL worth the price of admission and easily the best movie this year. I especially like the whole pit scene, they went way further than I expected them too. I was thinking we'd see maybe a couple giant spiders. Can't wait for the director's cut to come out, was kinda dissappointed the whole giant eel/fish scene was cut. The whole new angle to the Ann/Kong relationship worked for the better and was something was was sadly missing in the original. Hell I almost cried a couple times, and I don't do that often at movies. Just have this left to say....
Kong blew Jurassic Park out of the water in almost every single department!
Oh and those V-Rexes would snap the JP3 Spinosaurus in two.

I still refuse to see it. There's no way I'm letting Jackson steal another 6 bucks from my wallet. He's the only Writer/Director I can think of that can make a 5 minute scene seem to take 30 minutes. I may rent it on DVD, but I'm not even sure about that.

Nah, some of my friends feel the same way about his movies as I do. My problem is the man's sense of pacing; he slows everything down to a crawl. I can't say I hate PJ himself, but I hate his work.maesterkilik wrote:dude, whats your problem with PJ, apparently your the only person in the world that doesnt like his movies, thats including the academy::caughRotkgot11oscarscaugh::
Since you bring up the Academy Awards , I just want to say that they're full of crap. The members of the Oscars committee are just as crooked as politicians. Either you have to completely kiss their asses, bribe them, or make your film a limited-release to even get it considered for a nomination. I bet you ten bucks Kong will get over-looked at the 2006 Oscars. The only reason ROTK got 11 Oscars was because the critics loved it , and they kept complaining about LOTR being over-looked in previous years. I know, audiences loved it too, but the Academy doesn't usually nominate mass-marketed blockbusters for anything else but Special Effects. They usually choose nominations that appeal to critics, and just the people that the committee likes. ROTK was a fluke, the Academy felt that they had to give them everything to compensate for the past 2 films. King Kong is just one film, it's not part of a trilogy so if they over-look it this year the complaints about it will die out in a matter of months.

and to the real part of my post, i love pjs sense of pacingit gives time for character development and sets up plot points, but were all entitled to our opinions. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
