Sorry to bump an old topic, but after seeing the JW trailer, it made me think of this old place. Old school vet here, 'Raptor90' Poking my head in to say hello for the first time in ages!

Bumps are always welcomed! Especially for old-timers.Raptor90 wrote:Sorry to bump an old topic, but after seeing the JW trailer, it made me think of this old place. Old school vet here, 'Raptor90' Poking my head in to say hello for the first time in ages!
I was basically in shock this morning when I saw the Jurassic World trailer. I haven't updated the main site in years, so I figured today would be a good day. In between the time I checked on it last (Saturday), everything was fine. Today, I noticed some script-kiddie defaced the main page. Luckily... I had backups! Time for a new passwords all around.
I was just in the middle of updating the forum configuration when you made the post. Talk about good timing. Hope you didn't mind the little blip.

Nah its good. So based on what everyone knows, is this new movie considered a 'remake' of JP? Or is it a part IV? As in someone finally got control of one of the islands and managed to open a functioning park?

I cannot be certain. I have been trying to avoid reading the spoilers. My belief is Jurassic World takes place in an alternate reality where Jurassic Park as imagined by John Hammond was deemed successful. Dr. Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm came and went without instance. The events that transpired because of Denis Nedry never occurred.
Maybe Jurassic World is a direct sequel to Jurassic Park and The Lost World. Some pictures seem to suggest that, or maybe Colin Trevorrow was just being coy.
I tend to like the alternate universe bit. I watched way too much Fringe.

I think it's the same universe and Henry Wu manages to take over and put it back on the right path. That would be my impression based on what I've seen and read.
