JP3 is the worst, I've seen better movies but I still like it.

Personally, I watch it from an action standpoint if I want a fun romp with mindless carnivores chasing annoying, screaming people. I don't mind it, I don't love it, but I don't hate it.

I think anyone stranded on an island with giant flesh eating reptiles that are smarter then you would become helpless pretty quickly. But JP/// sucks. Yep.
But in the previous ones they are on the island not in a stranded state for some time. Then they go Ahh! The Rex is coming! But in JP/// they get on the island and five minutes later Ahh! The Spinos coming!

That sucked from the stand-point that there was almost no build-up, but JP3 was fun nonetheless. Just a fun summer movie.

It's ok for a stand alone movie. My problem with it is the fact that it's a part of the JP franchise. The one thing that made this so different and interesting with the premise that dinosaurs were animals...animals that showed a mix of characteristics from several species. They were shown to be not only quick, agile, and active, but that they were more than simple man-eaters. This as well as the increased scientific accuracy is what made the whole franchise different from any other movie. (Note I didn't say the scientific accuracy was comeplete and I do so for a reason.) However, that's not all that made JP more than just another mere unimaginative monster/action flick. There had always been the idea of control and the lack of control over nature inserted into the JP movies, except for JP3, and I believe that's one of the most interesting points of the franchise.

Also, let's add in the fact that the movie was rushed and there were problems with the script writing. That hurt it quite a bit.

When people watch a sequel they will always compare it to the previous film(s). Speilberg's decision to take the T-Rex into San Fransisco and civilization in The Lost World took out all the hype of possibly having a mysterious island which contains Dinosaurs. Now it made it apparent in people's imaginations that Jurassic Park would never exist in reality...because the first Jurassic Park had a very logical theory on how dinosaurs can be bought back to life - that it almost seemed realistic.

So to add to the dissappointment that the audience already had on The Lost World, Universal decided they would make a 3rd installment, which would further ruin the reputation of Jurassic Park. Now the story no longer concentrated on the actual Park, nor on the fact that dinosaurs could be brought back into existence today.
Rather, it became another typical "monster" horror type movie with people trying to run away from creatures that will maul and eat them...can you think of 1 movie that already has that storyline? (Or how about 100?)

Unfortunately, film studios nowadays are concentrating on their box office gross rather than the originality and quality of the stories behind the films. Just count how many sequels and remakes have suddenly sprung up in the last year or two. The public is getting dissensitized by all the typical boring same old storylines.

Rarely does a sequel do better than its predecessors, because the audience always expect ALOT MORE. Sequels have to be at least two times better in order to succeed.
Example: I've heard alot of people talk about The Lord of the Rings or The Matrix...and even though they're supposed to be trilogies and each episode is a continuation of the story, and not sequels, people still expect them to be better.

I think that IF they make a Jurassic 4, it will do very badly, unless it is going to be twice as good as the first Jurassic (which I doubt), in which case it will still only gross an average amount.

Jurassic Park 3 was just a quick money-making summer movie, without much attention to storyline or relation to the prequels.

wow this is like my first post here since a year ago? at least ... hehe

Well, I jest watched TLW agine, and great moive! Still when they took out Levine they took out the reson why they were on the island. And still, I whouldent have minded Arby.

Well, Jp3 to me was jest a T.V. Series. The reson why the 1st film was the best beacuse it had a plot. And Jp3 was jest like a T.V. series, a kid got traped on the island and then his parents trick someone to help them find him. So it was more of a episode than a moive.

And I remember back when Jp was released the moive diretor.. Stielberg(sp)
said that they were going to make 8 Jp moives.

This may not happen to less and less fans and money income.

And if the "Spinosaurus" acts like he is the boss of the moive it gunna suck and probily lose more fans and, POP Goes The Next Moives

Still Spinosaurus is cool looken they jest over rated him.

Well, I'm not going to complain about how Spino killed the T-Rex, or how unforsakingly large and massive it was, nor will I talk about how so intellegent the Raptors got that by the time the 4th movie comes in, the Raptors would've been able to make fire and be wearing clad leather dino skins around their privates and throwing spears at the humans.

Okay, let's get to what made me say JPIII just bit dust and nothing else. First of all, storyline, basically in any movie, if the storyline is no good, then the movie itself is no good. The storyline is the foundation to any movie, and with the plot going so fast and quick, it was just horrible. I honestly still can't see a kid surviving in a infested dinosaur inhabited island for 8 weeks or 8 months, whatever how long it was...throw a kid like that in the grasslands of Africa alone, and he he'll be lucky enough not to be killed and eaten within a few hours, much less last the night alone, also he would have the better chance of living then with dinosaurs walking around, especially if their where predators as smart as the Velociraptors in the movie.

Honestly, I hated the Kirby's, especially Amanda Kirby, screaming and spamming that much would've definetly attracted other dinosaurs, especially the large theropod dinosaurs, and the raptors. I wanted her to die so badly, for she got way too annoying. On the Kirby's the character developments within the movie where extremely horrible, with the exception of Dr. Grant and Elly, for they where already well placed within the first JP. I didn't really like any of the new characters, maybe with the exception of Dr. Grant's student, but that was mainly it, all the other people where either food for Spino, or a family screaming and running from dinosaurs.

Also, the ending was just awful...with the stupid army, and navy all coming in...it was just lame, and dumb. After the movie, I was never ever so dissappointed, not only was my favorite dinosaur, Tyrannosaurus Rex so horribly betrayed, but they just literally disgraced the whole JP franchise.

The only thing during the watching of JPIII at the theatres that I enjoyed was when the T-Rex was killed everyone in the theatre was booing at the Spino and one guy screamed out " The Spino..whatever it is sucks, T-Rex is the KING BABY!" Laughter came after, and it made me feel happy that I wasn't the only one thinking the same thing /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
