Why? Simple fact that it is discriminatory against a same s** couple - that has no control over their sexual orientation - to say that they cannot experience the benefits of marriage that normal couples have had for centuries.
Just because the Church says it is wrong, does not make it so. Religious organisations should have no authority over the people of the world.
Marriage is no longer a religious institution; it is a legal union that has little to do with God. But I'm not going to get drawn into a debate on religion right now. lol
Besides, isn't it morally right to respect another person's way of life if it isn't harming anyone?
By the way, I know it says in the USA and I'm not, but I felt I should post my views on the matter. I'm in the UK (as some of you prolly know anyway), and here same-s** marriage was made legal in December 2005. I haven't heard of it harming anyone yet.

Yeah, I know, if they want to be able to have benefits of marriage they should, but it shouldnt be on the records, because marriage is supposed to be between a man and woman, not man and man, so I have no problem with them getting the benefits, it just shouldnt be considered a marriage because it is ment to be a religious thing, you know, as I said, I'm not trying to offend anyone or hurt feelings, just figuring out peoples' views on the matter.
Hush! They may be near!

Well it's never called marriage anyway. Here in the UK same s** "marriage" is called a Civil Partnership, or something like that.
