I can try working on the Lost World DVD next time I rent it. I'll pick it up next time I'm at Blockbuster. I don't know how you do it Scallenger, but I extract the Dolby 5.1 mix from the disc onto a VOB file and use another program to split the channels. I've been working on this with a couple of James Bond DVD and the results are working out nicely. Thanks for saving me the work of having to do the JP disc. ;-)

OH JON: ALERT ALERT! ;D

I have updated the track list, so people can "make the cd the right way" if they own the original cd so they can accurately split the tracks up. Here's the link again, update your site again with it. Sorry, I should have put it on there the first time

http://diehard.ath.cx/~scallenger/JP%20 ... 20List.rtf

so, everyone, how is the quality of the music for being ripped from a dvd? what do you think of the actual new music itself? My favorite new tracks are the t-rex jeep chase and the action montage.

I thought it was actually recorded at a studio on the first listen. In other words, good job, good rip.

like i said, lol, it is a LOT more complicated process than it sounds.

for example:

The T-Rex Jeep Chase Music.

In the film, for those of you at home that watch it , in the scene where they are being chased by the rex in the jeep, you may notice that everytime a character says a line, the music's volume would go down all a sudden, and then up all a sudden when they stopped talking. It was HELL for me trying to fix the sound, trying to minimize the up and down of volume. I had to try it at least 5 times until I made a version I was satisfied with, and now it is almost seamless. The only way you could BARELY tell for what I did is if you listen to it on head phone at a very low volume.

Of course, the other scenario is the sound effects, i couldn't get rid of them all in a lot of tracks. So, the music I always had to bring it up in volume because it was so low, and then I had to bring it down quickly when a sound effect came a long, otherwise you would be defeaned by either a bird, roar, thunder, or whatever. Of course, for those who have downloaded the new tracks... the Tim and Lex one is out of my league... there was nothing I could do about the birds.

The quality is still great, though. I don't mind a few sound effects here and there. In fact, I quite like the Tim and Lex one with the birds kept in. Good job on this. You've definitely got patience!
