I'm glad this happened, because maybe this will be one more step in getting us caught up with the other industrialized nations and out of this obnoxious "oh no I'm offended!" puritanical attitude towards the entertainment industry as a whole. I'm not saying I want smut, but I want my TV not to mix words and dance around "sensitive" issues. I also want to see American feature films and foreign film & television make it onto American TV without having to be run through extensive FCC wringers beforehand.
I'm afraid I have to disagree. Who's to say that we must "catch up" with the rest of the world? Since when must we give in to peer pressure and submit to what other nations are doing? Sounds to me like "oh everyone does it, so I guess its ok and I'll do it too". I beg to differ
The point is, children shouldn't be
forced to witness that kind of behavior. Kids should be kids, they shouldn’t have to worry about worldly matters until they're older. When you burden them with 'modern' or 'worldly' issues they soon become warped and form all kinds of bizarre people. Would you want your kids growing up to think that it's ok to behave like that? Millions of girls will grow up thinking that this is the right way to act--that they can never be more than vacuous ninnies whose only goal is to look pretty, land a rich husband, and act like a complete slut because everyone else is doing it.
It's all about self-control. Many people lack this key principle by giving into whatever they feel like. Instead of thinking with their brains, they follow their hormones into every situation imaginable. As Proverbs says, "Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control." It's giving into mob mentality that’s what it is. People claim to be individuals but in truth they are not, goths (for example) are sheep like everyone else. They conform to gothic terms instead of truly expressing themselves. I find that most people's love of the marijuana leaf has clearly slowed their minds.

They shouldn't have it forcefully censored from their lives, either.

I'm glad someone else noticed this. A lot of people tend to fall for stereotypes instead of thinking for themselves. Btw, they're called goths, like the historical barbarians. No, I don't wear the spiked chokers.
I'll comment further later, if it takes my fancy. I just thought I'd pick that out before I slipped into bed.
