That sounds good I just mis read it, or misunderstood it. I like that Idea and it can work into the story that I am panning out if you want.....
Sounds great Dinoslayer i just didn't understand.
Do you not like my idea at all?

The laboratory complex sounds good, but the part where Biosyn was actually there during 1997 sounds forced and made up. In my idea Biosyn has bribed the U.S military to let them go to the island without the government noticing it, collecting a chosen list of species for research, setting the plot for the rest of the movie.

At this point in the series, I don't think you even need to go to Sorna to set up the plot. You can simply say that Ingen's genetic staff needed jobs after the company's collapse so Biosyn put them on their payroll, or something like that.

But it takes time to make new dinosaurs. That's why InGen went to Sorna in the first place in TLW. In the premise Biosyn does the same, except without anyone witnessing it and them actually succeeding. And let me remind that this is only at the beginning of the movie with only a couple of scenes before the actual story picks up two years later.

Who says that Biosyn couldn't have been making their own dinosaurs for the past 6 or 7 years?

Because taking DNA from fossils is a painstaking, let alone costly process. Capturing the original dinosaurs takes less time(and money). Biosyn could have just waited their turn in the competition without losing any cash for cloning.

Well, ofcourse it's painstaking. But Biosyn is supposed to be a lucrative corporation right? They've got plenty of time and money to blow on experimental science research. I guess realistically, it would make the most sense to go to Isla Sorna and take what you need. But from a narrative standpoint, I'm sick of the whole dino-island fly-by; it's too familiar.

uh, wasn't there only one dino fly-by?
oh and doesn't InGen have some sort of patent on the Sorna dinos? i remember reading about it in the book which is why BioSyn had to make their own. then again, Dodgson was trying to steal some eggs.

Yes, there was only one. But I meant that figuratively. In other words, I'm tired of the opening sequence eye-candy. They did it in JP, they sort of did it in TLW with the pack of stegosaurs, and they over-did it in JP3.

i see what you mean..
my opinion:
JP needs that
TLW....hmm...it was ok for story's sake, for the characters who had never seen them. i mean i guess it would've been the same if they used the game trail scene instead.
JP3...it does seem a little unecessary now that i think about it, but it could've been for Grant to have that remenescent feeling or something
not really trying to debate it though..i would have to think about it more
