The point is, children shouldn't be forced to witness that kind of behavior. Kids should be kids, they shouldn’t have to worry about worldly matters until they're older. When you burden them with 'modern' or 'worldly' issues they soon become warped and form all kinds of bizarre people. Would you want your kids growing up to think that it's ok to behave like that? Millions of girls will grow up thinking that this is the right way to act--that they can never be more than vacuous ninnies whose only goal is to look pretty, land a rich husband, and act like a complete slut because everyone else is doing it.

It's all about self-control. Many people lack this key principle by giving into whatever they feel like. Instead of thinking with their brains, they follow their hormones into every situation imaginable. As Proverbs says, "Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control." It's giving into mob mentality that’s what it is. People claim to be individuals but in truth they are not, goths (for example) are sheep like everyone else. They conform to gothic terms instead of truly expressing themselves. I find that most people's love of the marijuana leaf has clearly slowed their minds.

You're right, children shouldn't be forced to witness anything. And yes, the Superbowl was the wrong place to do it at (hell, the entire act was aimed at a demographic that runs opposite to the typical Superbowl-watching crowd, none of it should have happened). However, I still see no problem with our TV maturing a bit. As I said, I'm not calling for raunchy smut 24/7, I'm merely calling for TV that's allowed to be more intelligent and wittier if it so chooses without having to dance around certain sensitive subjects because someone might get offended or some irresponsible parent might be letting their children watch a program that was never meant for children's eyes in the first place.

If we were to relax a bit and actually let shows get away with more, there would still be many programs that were children/family safe, but the ones that weren't meant to be seen by children could actually "act their age," so to speak. Society wouldn't crumble, people wouldn't degrade into drooling neanderthals screwing anything that moved (look at Europe, they allow some simply hideous things on TV, but they have generally better education and lower crime...funny that). If parents were more responsible for their children as they should be, and actually monitored what they watched, they wouldn't become exposed to the raunchier and edgier bits of the nasty TV universe until the parents deemed it necessary (and a truly responsible parent would monitor how much TV their child watched...it's still called the "idiot box" for a reason...). The problem lies more with parental irresponsibility and ignorance of the power button than it does with "too much smut on the tube."

Ummm No. I think that ABC, NBC, CBS and blah blah, Should NOT allow any nudity. If you people want it so bad, watch HBO! Its not necissary for tits bouncing all over, and kids will see it without a doubt if they do put it on there...But hell they will also see anyway. It just doesn't belong. Whats next Disney doing porn? I noticed that nogin channel is getting more, err adultish and Cartoon network is like a freak show,... I watched family guy for the first time cuz i was bored as hell and wanted to see cartoons were like in 21st century... Uhh I heard? I did? Wow He said ........... on cartoon network... Thats messed up... Also messed up is ER showing old lady tits!

Addendum: And while the subject of Cartoon Network is on the table, I'd say that's an ideal example of what I'm calling for. The vast majority of Cartoon Network's programming is still pro-family and child-safe. Once Adult Swim hits, however, all bets are off. This is because Adult Swim is *Adult* Swim. It aims for a specific demographic and doesn't compromise its programming because the undesired element might be watching. And it doesn't do it for the sake of "OMG B00BIES" like you seem to think I'm getting at. No, look at Big O. Look at FLCL. Look at Cowboy Bebop. Hell, look at Family Guy. Intelligent, mature, witty programming, not because they showcase nudity & foul language, but because they're written with an older demographic in mind and aren't dumbed down because some irresponsible parent is letting their child watch Cartoon Network at one o'clock in the freakin' morning.

Well, you can't really say that about Cowboy Beebop, it's an older foriegn cartoon, which was written in a country which culture's quite different from our own, especially television wise.

Ah, but I'm pretty sure I can. I'm more versed in anime than anything, and Bebop was a mature night-runner in Japan just as it was here if memory serves. FLCL was straight to video (OVA), so it got away with more and had some much higher production values. Big O...not exactly sure, but I'm fairly certain it got an evening TV run, as well.

Some dude dressed as a ref tore off all his clothes during the second half right as they were about to kick off. Live on TV. It was awsome. Then as they quickly put a graphic over the guy you could see tons of people from the sidelines rush him.

I laughed very hard when that happened. I wish they would have just blurred him out so you could have seen him get tackled. That would have been funny as hell.

You didn't understand what I said. You mentioned that Beebop, aswell as others, were written with adult audiences in mind. However, that's not exactly the case for Japan's Beebop, their television nowadays is much more varied than anything else, Poke'mon and Beebop are shown during periods of Day TV, rather then American's "Late Night" sort of programming. I'm just sayng that other countries have much more "free" programming then the States.
