The characters? The logical choise would, of course, be the three people from the second and first novel's that never got a shot, that being Ed Regis(working for some vacation company in the script), Jack Thorne, Arby, and Richard Levine. That's a good way to start. Now, we must invent the story to be something new from the previous films. My idea is that it should take place in different places at the same time through different characters. Like I already suggested, the military invades Site B and helps scientists to collect blood samples from the dinosaurs. Jump five years later when people start to disappear in different locations. It turns out that someone has released dinosaurs to the American continent, leading to an investigation.
I still have to tweak it a little bit. It's hard to come up with anything.

QUOTE (SSJDinoTycoon42 Posted on 07.23.2005)
add up all the JP fans in the world, yes the WORLD, not how many is that?
Not enough to make a good profit, that's for sure.
the moral is one of the best things about the JP films, it shows a sense of purpose, a reason why they are doing what they're doing.
what i don't want to see happen is a JP horror film.
Okay, seriously, the "moral" was nothing but an after thought. It's been stressed enough already, and it really isn't the purpose of the film, it's just a side note. Jurassic Park has been treading on the fine line between horror and action since the original. So it shouldn't come as a shocker if JP4 is a horror film, it's one of their few options left.
JP3 was a partial softened thriller...i think
tell me what you would like to see happen in the story in the suspense/thriller type and why it would be a good direction
JP3 was a very soft thriller. I would like to see them dump the whole "We're trapped on Isla Sorna" routine. Set it in a post-apocalyptic city, that's become a ghost town because of a dinosaur infestation. Sort of like what zombie movies have done in recent years. I know, it may sound a little corny to return to the city but if they handle it in the proper way, it won't feel like Godzilla. In other words if they don't have a bunch of people running through the streets screaming, and make the place really seem like it's been stripped bare, that would be frightening. I want it to be dark, and very gloomy like a film noir. I want the dinosaurs to stay in the shadows during most of the scenes. I want something that keeps most of the fear in your mind instead of showing you the blood and guts. I really don't want to see another happy ending, I will be pissed if they do that again.
Jeez, I didn't realize how much I wrote. Sorry about that.

again, this movie shouldn't be all about profit
they don't use the same moral for all three movies, and there would be a different one for IV. a story without a moral is just someting to waste your time on.
JP only had a few moments that would resemble a horror film. options for what?
by making the dinosaurs that way, you turn them into monsters, and that would destroy all the efforts the first two movies made to show them as living things just doing what they do. it would be like what happened to sharks when Jaws came out.
i prefer happy endings, most people don't go to the movies to be depressed
but i do agree that being trapped on the island is a little old, that's why i suggested they be trying to save the dinosaurs instead of escaping them, or trying to save both dinos and humans from a mutual threat
now i understand why people didn't like the San Diego scene...guess it's cause i never saw Godzilla...

It shouldn't be all about profit, but just understand that the film industry is a business. You don't put $150 million into a film just for the fans. You want to make that money back. Even Indie film makers want to turn a profit. Yes, they do use the same moral for all 3 movies. Don't mess with nature, that's about it. Well, I guess JP3's moral was that a family can never be broken apart. That was pretty corny, though.
JP only had a few moments that would resemble a horror film. options for what?
A horror film is one of their only options left for a sequel. You can't make another bright and happy Jurassic Park, we've had 2 of those already.

The Jurassic Park dinosaurs were monsters in the first place. It's just that Steven Spielberg put some gentle scenes in there to keep dinosaur enthusiasts from getting angry. Dinosaurs are dead, so it won't be like what happened when Jaws came out.
i prefer happy endings, most people don't go to the movies to be depressed
There's a certain point where a happy ending becomes pointless. Another Jurassic Park film with a happy ending would be pretty boring.

Well here is a little fan fiction that I found interesting. It could make for a good JP movie. What do you think?

of course they want to make a profit, otherwise it's a hobby
JP - you can't play God
TLW - if man could learn to step aside, then all will be well
JP3 - interfering with nature could be worth the risk and the two types of boys(the river scene)
(yes it's all about nature but that's what it's supposed to be about)
there's no reason why we can't have another happy JP, they were both more successful
in the Making of JP they stressed the fact that they were living things in all the designs and behavior. they wanted to make them as real as possible example: showing they were like birds, having them not go specifically for humans. it would be like Jaws because people will think of them as monsters which will reverse all the progress they've made since the "terrible lizards" name was first established
all endings are a little boring, that's because it the resolution. it's after the climax meaning all the action has passed.

Hey I don't mean to intrude, but I got an idea.
Ok its been awhile since people actually saw the dinos, so lets have the world think of it as a legend. Make the story a secret again.
the dinos on Nublar are gone, they were bombed like in the book. Dinos on sorna are diseased. So, let's assume that the reason Hammond was really behind schedule, because he started on his other island in the Azores in Europe for Jurassic Park Europe. I think we can add Grant and Dodgson in without Biosyn. Have Dodgson go to this new island with his own organization.
Richard Levine has been to sorna to find out if there is info on the dinos before they got DX in the computer network there and finds out about the other island. He tries to get Malcolm there but he has had it with the dinos, so Levine gets grant and his new assistant/ girlfriend to go.
Then when they get there they discover that the second park has only been abandoned for 4 years and Ingen only used chapter 11 bankruptcy as a cover up to continue their work on the dinos.
Have the dinos die out some way and keep the story covered-up. Action like JP/// and a story as good as JP. Have dinos interract more and actually have people kill the dinos, instead of them running like retards with guns like in jp///.
Tagline could be "legends die.......but secrets live."

well, JP3 showed no sign of the dinos dying and everyone still knew about it. the topic of Isla Sorna was still hot. so it's not likely that they would forget about it so easily.
in your story i would prefer if the dinos were saved and moved to an even more secluded area even farther off shore, where it would be almost impossible to reach without special equipment. however, InGen would cease work on it and serve to protect it instead. at the end they would show a small nearby island off the coast of the new area where they have a base for ocean patrols to prevent accidental discovery.
i think people want Malcolm to come back(although he wouldn't have any reason that i can see..unless it's a legal reason)
i thought of a way to reintroduce Dodgson(since not a lot of the general public would remember) the main characters question Hammond about who this Dodgson guy is...Hammond asks if they remember his nephew Dennis Nedry, there's a flashback to the lunch they had in Costa Rica as Hammond explains what happened that day. he can say that he discovered this shortly after an investigation into what went wrong.
you should change "legend" to "myth" because most legends don't die but myths are easily forgotten. again, the public wouldn't forget an island with real live dinosaurs quickly if at all. that's something that would be remembered for all time.
oh yeah, from what i can tell, people are a little tired of islands
