From an interview with Joe Johnston,

Are you going to be directing Jurassic Park Part 4?

Nobody’s made me an offer yet. I know that there’s a story now that’s being written that is, that takes the franchise in a completely different direction – away from the island and away from the T-Rex and all this. It’s a great story, and I sort of hope Spielberg will direct it.

You haven’t been involved in the development?

No, no I haven’t. I’ve been told the story, but no.

"Away from the Rex?" And Horner said that "Raptor fans would OMG LURVE" this film...

Yeah, screw that. The entire project just shot itself in the head as far as I'm concerned. I mean hell, why don't we just take KONG out of King Kong? Or cut Gandalf out of Lord of the Rings? Same damn thing.

"Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the man, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in Thy sight. I shall purify all with a single blow. Mine enemies stand before mine eyes. Who shall mourn for Division XIII? Who shall mourn for the Vatican?"

BS, the JP films are about all the dinosaurs, just not the Rex.

They need to bring back the Dilophosaurus.

The rex, besides the raptors, in the first two Jurassic Park films were the main dinosaurs. And then only give a small cameo to the rex in the third installment? WTF! And to top it off they change the tyrannosaur from what we knew and loved to this scavenger? I don't care if the tyrannosaur was a scavenger in real life, but in the Jurassic Park world it was a mighty hunter.

If what Johnston said is true, taking the rex out would be like having a peanut butter sandwich without the bread. I mean come on, you cant totally take way the tyrannosaur from Jurassic Park! It wouldn't be a JP film without it.

The King must reign! The reason the first two movies had the rex on its box is because it was the main dino this is like taking Tim Allen out of home improvement and putting in Ray Romano it just doesn't work.
When all is said and done and the world is empty how much does it really matter the amount of money you had or what car you drove?

Well, at least he's not involved. You gotta take the falling trees with the good.
