Then how will Grant and Malcolm come into it? Wouldn't they be dead or really really old men by now?
Interesting...

Just because it's a myth doesn't mean it takes place in the 22nd century. The myth idea for JP4 suggests that since most people in the world have never seen the dinosaurs, they doubt that they actually exist. The San Diego incident happened in '97, and a lot of time has passed with nothing of real importance involving the islands. By the time of JP4, the idea of dinosaurs wouldn't be in many peoples minds.

Even though it was all over the news, including CNN.

I can see that working, if they play it by what really has happened since '97: there was 9-11 and the war in Iraq for some examples. Those events would stand out more in peoples mind than a dinosaur walking the streets in San Diego. After the rex was brought back to Sorna, once again the dinosaurs became out of sight out of mind.

I sometimes think it as a dream myself.

Jp3 sort of handed the "post San Diego" mood ... alright. Considering there were questions from reporters about and such - but to me ... it still seemed incredibly lame. I mean, here's an island with .. wait no, two islands with entire Dinosaur populations on them, and the government seems very open about it. The Islands are restricted ... oooh, big deal. C'mon, where's the military patrols? The ideas put out by governments to eliminate them? etc, etc .. and so on and blah blah blah.
You get the idea. I mean, when a small Godzilla goes running through the streets of a major American city, gobbling up people and generaly smashing the sh*t out of everything ... it might be kinda hard to forget that. It would have obviously been telecasted all over world news, etc. It justs seems incredibly stupid that people would just shrug off a 40-foot-man-eating-animal-that-is-supposed-to-be-dead-more-than-60-million-years-ago situation.

Yeah I think Dinosaurs would stand out more in people's minds than 9-11 to be honest. As harsh as that sounds.. this is something that just tips the scale at incredible.
And as for JP3 being a dream.. god, it's like one of those crappy stories you write when you're a kid 'and billy woke up and it was all but a dream'. If that's true, then it has to be the worst plot ever.
