I've been going through ideas with a couple people that I know to help boost fandom in the Jurassic Park community and we seemed to come across the way to do it. The problem is no Jurassic Park sites are publicly advertised beyond the Internet Medium (sometimes not even there) and I found out a way to sort of merge the two worlds. The most serious die-hard fans I know are interested in doing the costuming aspects of this at local Science Fiction or Comic book conventions to sort of help give back the feeling of old.

I posted the outline there on my site for how to do the costuming aspects of the components needed for how the costuming should work from my JP Encyclopedia/P:Db/Movie Database research. So far the only pieces I really need filled in are the make of the SWAT vest used for the Park Security Workers. I'm planning on handing out flyers for my site and showing off the Jurassic Park costume I have completed at this year's Marcon 2005 that's being held in Columbus, OH provided I have the funds to go this year as I spent the original funds on building my own computer because my lame ol' Compaq that I had for five years decided to lose functionality on it's main hard drive. Luckily I had all my important crap on my D: Drive which is now my C: Drive in this computer.
Now most popular fandoms have costumers (Aliens, Lord of the Rings, Farscape, Predator, Star Wars, the various Trek properties and various Stargate Properties.) So why not try to use the same style on the Jurassic Park property? Now I wouldn't want anyone costuming after a dinosaur or anything because in my opinion it's tacky, but what I'm suggesting is the inspiration behind it is that we model the teams after the heirarchy used by the Park's Staff and then sort of expand to costuming after characters and so forth. If someone could pull off a Dinosaur costume as well done then they sure could go ahead and do it, but for the moment though like I said it'd be better if we stuck with the human route for the time being. The link to my page explains everything and shows an example of me in a JP Costume I put together.
So there it is pretty much. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
