All y'all, doesn't it seriously rule?
I mean, I go to heaps of parties, I go out to bars, clubs and parties all the time (and to be honest, I know alot of really good looking girls), but there's nothing I love more than being a geek.
Every single one of my girlfriends I have sat down with me to watch Jurassic Park and MADE SURE they know I can recite every word in JP and Lost World. I wore a batman suit to the last party I went to and, needless to say, I got alot of attention that night.
Guys, you must have some similar stories about it. All the girls I know think it's hilarious that I have heaps of JP merchandise in my room and that I play video games heaps. By day... law student and ralph lauren salesperson, by night (ALL NIGHT) halo 2 onliner!
Has it been all good for all of you, or has being a geek been a detriment? I personally couldn't have it any other way.

I feel like I just read an add trying to convince me to be a geek or something. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
And I'm not really quite sure what I am. I call myself a geek, I've been called a geek, I've also been told that I'm not a geek. And nerd is a different class altogether. A nerd is more of a technology adict than a geek. A geek just does dumb things or gets a little more involved in video games than he should sometimes. A nerd lives only for video games and computers and technolgoy. At least that's what a girl told me once. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
And no, I can not recite every word in JP and I don't think I've ever used anything like that when with a girl... but I have been several different things for Halloween including an undead skeletal warrior, Dr. Weird from Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Scooby Doo, and Dr. Super Love. I always make my own costumes, hence the variety.
I dunno, I used to be big into video games, but after college, they're more of an afterthought than something I actually do anymore. Same with watching TV. I really can't/don't watch TV unless someone else in the room is. Then I'll kinda space out to whatever they're watching. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
Yeah, that wasn't a rambling post at all. Just ignore me, I'm tired. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Ya my thoughts as well, I guess he is a nerdy redneck?.
I'm not a geek, so I wouldn't know. I've been know to be classified as a preppy, grungey at times person. Sure I have a decent knowledge on sci fi crap and computers, but I try and edujucate myself on everything I can.

Oh, my mistake. It seems I wasn't aware there were 100% accurate and specific social meanings for "geek" and "nerd" and the context they can be used in. Thanks for the heads up! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="<_<" border="0" alt="dry.gif" />
