Okay, I've made many Cat5e wires in the past. Very simple. It's just a pain in the ass when it comes to lining up the right colored wires for the right pin.

Today I had to go out and buy the end-caps for the Cat5e wires running through the house. (The piece you plug into the wall or end of the router.)

Now, using what I've one in the past--Line the wires up, cut them nice and straight, shove the ends into the plug; crimp.

It should work? Right? Nope. I can't get any of the cat5e wires that I made to work correctly.

Does anyone (who has done this before) have any ideas why they don't work?

Wait...you'v made cables, but not the jacks? I think the jacks have to be wired differently.

I've wired the jack correctly. I've got the cable to work since I've posted this. It's just a bitch to put the plug in these new caps.
