So, this is starting to irritate me. You know all those paleontology sites that had the comprehensive lists and profiles of various dinosaur species, that actually told you a thing or two about not just ten, not just fifty, but literally hundreds of dinosaur species, giving you their size dimensions, species names (A.ajax, A.excelsus, etc.), classifications, geological locations, fossile records, and various other noteworthy bits of data, all in straightforward terms that weren't simplified or dumbed down or coloured up for elementary school kids? Sites like The Dinosauricon (the old one, the one that actually got updated from time to time), Dino Data, and even the JP Institute? They seem to all be drying up. The Dinosauricon has dropped its old site, with the only worthwhile content on the new one being its (admittedly impressive) art gallery, Dino Data seems to have just crashed royal, and JP Institute has up and vanished.
Which thus brings me to my question. Do any of you perchance know of any reliable, factual, comprehensive dinosaur databases like those previously mentioned that are actually still up and operational? I've found nothing but lame attempts with only fifty or so species listed (and grossly outdated information), and little kiddy sites with bright, smiling dino icons and names like "Dinoz-4-Totz.com" and it's driving me up the freakin' wall. Is it too much to ask to have a reliable, academic source on dinosaurs on the 'net that doesn't just whither up and blow away?
