I've been a diehard Sony fanatic since the 90s but lately I've comtemplated getting the 360 instead. For one thing, this has been said a million times, but the PS3 is just TOO PRICY. Besides, the 360 has been promised a BluRay add-on in the future as an optional peripheral. As far as I can tell, all the PS3 has going for it is slightly more processor power, MGS4, BluRay which the 360 will get anyway, and the ignorance of its fans that are expecting something as breakthrough as the PS2 was in its time. I'm still curious to see how the Wii performs in the market, so I will reserve my comments until it has had time to spread around to gamers.

Never played an Xbox or 360 so can't really comment on them.

Screw that, I'm not paying $600 for a video game console, not to mention the $90 per game.

You should wait, regardless of which system you ultimately buy. The prices will drop (by way of package deals) just in time for the holiday season next year, when all the good games will come out. None of the next-gen systems have released anything spectacular yet. I have a 360 and all we play is Halo. Apparently Gears of War is good, but I haven't tried it. If you're a Sony fan, just buy Final Fantasy XII. I'm sure that will keep you going for a long time.

The most recent console I have is the very stylish Nintendo 64. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
But if I were to get one, I think I would lean towards the Wii.

The Wii does have interesting potential, perhaps for strategy games?

Played a 360 recently, didn't quite grab my attention. Played Call of Duty 3. That was alright, but I still say FPS is no good on consoles anyway. And some other game which was absolute shite.
So yeah, still won't be buying a 360 any time soon. Can't wait for the PS3 though. Woooo.
Wii... Hmm... Still unsure about that one. I think this might be Nintendo's last console. I don't know anyone who is going to try it.
In the last round of the Console Wars, we at work predicted how it would go by how many of us were getting each console.
A load of use were waiting for PS2.
A few people bought the DreamCast.
And a couple people bought an Xbox.
Nobody bought a GameCube straight away.
This time round...
A good few people have the 360 already.
A fair amount of us are waiting for the PS3 release.
A lot of people want to try the Wii, but nobody is planning on buying one.
