Jurassic Park's stolen concepts from King Kong

Was it the original DNA manipulated Jurassic Park, the return of inGen in The Lost-World, or just the worth-wild running around frantically Jurassic Park III that captured your imagination.

I watched King Kong in it's entirity for the 1st. time today, and I noticed that there are alot of action sequences in the Jurassic Park movies that stole from it. It was most obvious in JP3, with the T-Rex vs. Spino battle. That entire fight was ripped straight from the Kong vs. T-Rex battle. The worst part about it was that the spino vs. T-Rex fight in JP3 ended the exact same way as the Kong vs. T-Rex fight. In both films the T-Rex died because it's neck was broken by it's opponent.

Also, the T-Rex sequence in San Diego is a bit like Kong's rampage in New York. It's not as much of a rip-off as JP3 but you can definitely see the similarities in the sequences.

T.rex's neck wasn't broke in King Kong it's jaw was bent way out of it's socket killing it perhaps crushing the trachea, but that doesn't count as breaking a neck. Maybe the fight concept yes, but you could say that for just about every other dinosaur movie out there.

The one King Kong thing that I can agree with is the San Diego sequence. Jurassic Park didn't rip from it actually if you wish to get technical it was TLW that did.

Ah, but you knew I was talking about TLW. Now that I think about it, the general idea of King Kong and Jurassic Park are pretty similar. That you can't contain wild life and that it's best for man not to interfere with nature because there could be horrible consequences. That's pretty much what they're about.

Honestly, how many other dino movies are there that are just as popular as Jurassic Park? The only other dinosaur movie that I've even heard of is The Lost World from the 1920's? Or the 1930's?(I know it came out some where around that time)And I guess ... Carnosaur, if you consider that crap a dino movie. But that's it, I have never heard of any other dinosaur movies. Unless you want to get very, very anal and count the Discovery channel specials as t.v. movies.

Nah there are loads of dinosaur movies around, think of all the dodgy monster movies where prehistoric man are fighting them. Of course, none of them comes close in popularity to JP.

One Million Years B.C., One Million B.C., The Last Dinosaur, At the Earth's Core (crap), Valley of Gwangi (fantastic), The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (better than fantastic), We're Back, Disney's Dinosaur, etc., etc. Just about ANYTHING with some combination of Lost/Missing/Vanished/Amazing/Exciting/Moderately Prohibitive and Continent/Land/World/Realm/Planet/Country/Valley/Parking Lot has some sort of significant dinosaur presence. And there's only been about 200 versions of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World...though only the 1925 silent film version and some 2003 remake by the Walking with Dinosaurs effects crew have been the only ones that didn't completely suck ass.

There's also A Sound of Thunder coming out either late this year or next. I forget exactly when, though.

Okay, but like I said before none of them has had the popularity of Jurassic Park. Except maybe The Lost World.(During the time) A Sound of Thunder hasn't even been released yet. Have you read the plot synopsis for it? It sounds more like a video game plot than a motion picture. I had forgotten about We're Back (I didn't even like this movie when I was a kid) I'd say the only movie on that list that has been released in the past 2 decades and has come close to being as successful as Jurassic Park is Dinosaur. It made $137 million at the box offices, which is almost as much as JP3 made. But, Jurassic Park made $357 million at the box offices, which makes Dinosaur's profit look like chump change in comparison.

I have never heard of most of the films on that list. Nagisa, I don't doubt that they were released, I was just stating that there are very few dinosaur movies that were as popular as Jurassic Park. I assume that I haven't heard of most of the movies on your list because they were probably FLOPS!

actaully most of the movies on his list are from the 1950s - early 80s. They werent flops, well most of them weren't. You'd be amazed at how good some of them were. I remember my father telling me: "you havent seen this movie?! man this was the movie to see back when i was a kid!" So I would actually sit and watch the movies with him and be awwed. Some really sucked but thats life. Shitty actors or just a boring plot. Which is another reason for Jurassic Parks success. Sam, Laura, Jeff, Richard, Jackson. All fantastic and well known actors of the late 80s and early 90s. Except Richard, hes been around since the early 50s.

Most of them (the films) were even taken into concideration for Jurassic Park; due to the techneques featured in the films.

You know what I think would be funny for JP4 or something?

Well, over here (maybe over there aswell) Richard Attenborough's brother, David Attenborough, is the narator on many nature shows. It would be cool to have both of them in the same movie, with David narating a nature show about the dinos of JP. hehe.

Sorry, I know that was a bit random and offtopic there...

So do I that would be a great plot maybe his brother wants to do a documentary on them and Hammond tries to stop him because of all the things that have happened before but the inevitable happens (or here's a twist it never happens and everyone gets out alive). just a thought.
When all is said and done and the world is empty how much does it really matter the amount of money you had or what car you drove?
