I'm getting a little tired of this "new dinosaur" crap. In TLW, it was okay, but now the joke's has worn to old age. I think JPIV should concentrate more on plot and what we already have in the series rather than a new monster.

That would be some...damn...around 500 species, perhaps? More than that? Besides, "land dinosaurs" were the only kinds. There were no marine or aerial dinosaur species, unless you're a subscriber to the theory that Archaeopteryx and its ilk were actually decent at flying.

You mentioned the marine dinosaurs being none existant. That's not true.
Pleasiosaur (sp?) is a marine dinosaur, there are many others I can describe but can't name.
And about Archeoptrix, it could fly. Pterasaurs could fly too, so you have land dinos (like rex), dino's that live in water (pleasio) and dinosaurs that could fly (Ptera).
They don't HAVE to live in water forever, or fly forever...they will need to come onto land eventually, but remember where they spend most of their time.
And don't bother replying to me cause I just know I'll be flamed anyway.

And the funny thing is...you're absolutely wrong.

Plesiosaurs, Mosasaurs, and the like were not dinosaurs, but rather marine reptiles. Similarly, Pterosaurs were warm-blooded flying reptiles, not dinosaurs. Just because it has "-saurus" at the end of its name does not automatically make it a dinosaur.

Archaeopteryx's ability to fly is called into severe question by many paleontologists. Most say that - at best - it was an awkward glider.
