Heh heh. Yeah, I got the same from the palaeos on my committee and from a few of the folks I acknowledged. It's frustrating being told that the work you did is worth a Masters, but legally worth a BSc.

Nope. Couldn't afford to go last year, although yes, I did submit some stuff for the auction. I heard it got good money, so I'm happy about that. Won't be going this year either -- I'll be at the Dinosaur Park Symposium instead.

Cool. I'm working on a new mosasaur from Manitoba right now. It's Plioplatecarpus, which has never been described from the area, and it's likely a new, basal species, though I don't think we're going to name it until some more diagnostic material is available.
I wouldn't mind trying my hand at some plesiosaurs next... Maybe a polycotylid.

I don't doubt it. The next SVP will be held in Ottawa, my home town, so I'll definitely be at that one. I also attended SVP two years ago in Minnesota. Were you there?

Yup, I was in Minnesota and Oklahoma before that. Darn, too bad I didn't realize you were there. And I will almost definitely be at the Ottawa meeting. I don't see why not anyway. Cool beans.

Oh, and a polycotylid huh? Interesting critters, I read quite a bit on them while I was doing my research, but my specimen turned out to be a polyptychodon. I guess extra knowledge never hurts though. ;D

And cool stuff workin' on a Mosasaur. I had a couple friends workin' on Mosasaurs and my advisor, Dr. Jim Martin, was crazy for 'em. Ever heard of him?
