well, it seemed that JP3 was the thing that got him to like dinosaurs again, at least it looked that way with that line that was cut from the end. it looked like he accepted it. also he didn't have a lot of options left since Paleontology wasn't so hot any more.

you didn't have to see the first to watch JP3, everything is pretty much self-explained in it.

The film-makers tried so hard to give JP3 the essence of the original Jurassic Park that it felt like they were forcing the audience to remember it. They even threw in Alan Grant, which seemed like a pretty desperate attempt to remind every one what the first film was about.

If you're going to make a sequel that can stand on its own, it shouldn't dwell on the past. You should never use repeat characters unless they have an intricate role in the plot. They just found an excuse to put Grant in JP3.

that's true, it shows in the soundtrack as well, they just recycled the old theme and let Don Davis play around with it...and you're right that the old characters should have more of a purpose instead of just being there, but hey, all of those characters were just there. the whole thing was about surviving the island and escaping. there was no moral, no purpose except for getting out of there. they again tried to imitate JP with that river scene.

what i'm saying is they should bring them back, but with a purpose and a reason for the story to even take place.(and of course bring in new people as well)

No more old characters. They only ruin it, just like they have already done(JP3).

are you kidding me, Grant held that movie together [/QUOTE
]

You're right, Grant did hold the movie together, and I like the old characters too... but the thing I'm afraid of is Grant/Ellie dying... they've (personally) been an inspiration to me, and I don't want them to die because of the fact that these fictional characters have put so much influence on me... maybe we could use them minor characters or something...?

Anyway, I think it would be about time to put Dodgson back in the movie... we haven't seen him in a while, and he didn't die (did he?)..., and its about time we make him seem more like a Government Offical or something...that way, it would make the movie more serious and it makes you wonder back t the first movie and think "Was he REALLY after those dino embryos?" and really "WHY?" was it to boost up his own company or what? -- in other words... we need to give him more of a purpose and more of a background story....
(I don't know what point I'm trying to proove or where I am going with this...).

Moving on, How are you/we going to make this movie anyway...(CGI animation? CADD? Real life characters? Claymation?)... and how are we going to get these characters--?

well, i think we're just writing the script in here.

i too don't want them to die.

nah i don't think he died...he was probably sitting up in his office tapping his pen on his desk, looking at the rain pour down, (looks at his watch)"dammit, where's Nedry and those embryos?!"

*dodgson looks at the burned up contract in the garbage thinking that the embryos just arrived*

"you gotta be kiddin me"

"they said the package never arrived"

"dammit Nedry...alright, move to...Plan B..."
