Let's get started!! Here's what I think about those.
Characters: I'm not sure what characters to use. Do we want some returning characters or not?
Setting: Hmm... Isla Nubular or a city?
Theme: Same as the others. Life finds a way. LOL
Plot: Not sure
Story: Not sure
Dinosaurs: Tyannosaurus, Velciraptor, Triceratops, Pachycephalosaurus, Dilophosaurus, and many others.
Military: No.
Legal Issues: Yes

I think that if you're going to make JP4, then you have to start from scratch. As Dino Slayer said earlier, most of the source material has been used up. Jurassic Park is a dead franchise now. To resurrect it would take one hell of a plot. A plot that drastically goes against your expectations. You're going to have to come up with a story concept that is loosely associated to Jurassic Park if you want JP4 to stand out as something different.
Something else that you have to understand is that the audience has become jaded. They are no longer impressed by seeing dinosaurs grazing in a field. People watch Jurassic Park films for the scares. You can't waste any time trying to explain the complexity of the plot because it will only slow the film down. The audience will probably have very little patience for the film in the first place, so don't push it. Explain your plot quickly and jump right into it. Jurassic Park IV has to be blunt to capture anyone's interest.

Can we have an Archeopteryx??! ---Oh, and a few feathered dinosaurs-- BUT as long as they look convincing and accurate.
Oh, and here's a random idea....: Ellie Sattler has a husband right...? How about we 'get rid of him'... (lol) and we make Alan Grant marry her.... lol....gee, I don't know... lol, it would be nice to see them together again... and I think they make a good couple too... lol....
I think we should bring in Dodgson again, but as the main "badie" or something..., he makes a very good bad guy. And he kinda does give us a bit of a story line too....
Anyway, um... I think thats a great start, but I want more people to bring in their ideas...., we need more options than just that...

blunt movies don't last more than a week, people walk out saying "what was the point?" and see the story as a wrapper for the action
JP3 was blunt and reviewers called it as basically "one dino attack after another" and gave it 2 1/2 stars
the point is, if you're start trying to make an action thriller and then try to make a story that fits the action, it becomes a cliche. the action should serve the story, not the other way around. there are still some interesting things that can be done. i say make JP4 mostly for the fans while still being an enjoyable movie for the rest, especially if this is how it's going to end. it shouldn't be about making it a major box office hit, it should be good.
anyway, i forgot one major issue: are the dinosaurs going to survive this movie??? /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

haha, yeah i was disappointed when i saw Ellie married to someone else, i always thought the ending of JP sort of hinted that they would get together /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
Dodgson is a really good character to bring into it, he's a pretty open-ended character, since he only appears once and did not die or have a resolution or something...he could definitely start up some of the issues and problems...especially with BioSyn...
Archeopteryx would be interesting to see....

I was SO disappointed to see Ellie married to someone else, it really shocked me... It seems to me, that her husband is the "Not around all the time" type, and it seems that Alan is a '"regular" visitor of Ellie's as well... Why can't they just marry each other??! I seriously thought that Alan and Ellie would have a future together, it seemed like it, because the end of JP DID suggest it...
I say, we get rid of her husband....(*nissin's evil little grin*).. hehehe
Anyway, like you said..., Dodgson is a great character to include in the movie, but if we do this, it sorta continues on from JP, and it seems to me, that most people want to start from scratch for JP4...
If you ask me, we should really include him in it, he seems to have quite a bit of a story we could use... and its a story that isn't finished yet... so why not put that story as part of JP4...? -- heck we could even throw in some flash backs or something...!?
Archeoptryx would be intresting to see, its one of those 'challenges' as well as something new... so why not...?
and I agree, we should make JP4 for fans AND for everyone else, but we have to make sure that its something :-
a) new and never before seen
/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> exciting
c) action filled, and orginal like JP
d) heart-thumping..., like JP
e) easy to follow -- with some humor

There isn't a large enough fan base to justify that.Their best bet is to make it appeal to mainstream movie go-ers. But it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to resort to turning it into a hackneyed action-er to do it. I don't mean blunt in the same sense as Jurassic Park 3, I don't want it to be a wam-bam action film. I want it to be blunt in the sense that it is direct, keeps a fast pace, and serves its purpose. War of The Worlds was a blunt film, it jumped right into the story and was able to keep up a sense of tension, and dread without slowing its pace. The best way I can explain how I would want to see JPIV is like a sped-up Alfred Hitchcock film. I want to see a Jurassic Park film that is filled with an overwhelming tension. I guess, I'd like to see them pull back on the action, and drop the kiddy stuff. No one has made a Jurassic Park film that is a suspense/thriller and I think it would be the perfect direction to take. For once, it would be nice to see a Jurassic Park film that has no sense of optomism, and drops the underlying moral.

add up all the JP fans in the world, yes the WORLD, not how many is that?
the moral is one of the best things about the JP films, it shows a sense of purpose, a reason why they are doing what they're doing.
what i don't want to see happen is a JP horror film.
i had an idea, in the movies, they're always trying to escpae the dinos, maybe this time around, they could be trying to save them, maybe even prevent another extinction at the hands of mankind. you mentioned tension, well maybe the tension could be that the become more and more desperate in attempting to do this. it could also be due to that hinted disease that threatens dinos and humans
JP3 was a partial softened thriller...i think
tell me what you would like to see happen in the story in the suspense/thriller type and why it would be a good direction
remember, there isn't any room to change since it isn't going anywhere after this...after this, it's over
