That's also kinda true. But we haven't seen much activity here lately. I say we continue and finish this thing. It may never become official but I still love doing it.

well, the main reasons would probably be writer's block or lack of time. i don't have much free time due to school, plus i've got a lot of other scripts for movies i'm actually making. i'll try to work on this though. it's a great project

Ok, I was reading this mage in detail, and I just finished off with the Raptors... (the feathered and repitilian types).
I was thinking we've always had velociraptors - why not introduce a new Raptor or raptor-like creature.
I was thinking one could be the Velociraptor and other can be something else- (don't know, Utahraptor or even Deinonoychus)...
If you have two spieces of Raptors, the viewers MIGHT question why there are two types of Raptors..., but BOTH are sharing the same name of "velociraptor"? So why not add a new Raptor relative?

You mean something like Saurornitholestes or Dromaeosaurus? Deinonychus is basically the same thing, but we could use the name, knowing that many people are familiar with it. The reptilian version could be the Deinonychus. Perfect! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

My idea was that we could have a mix of old and new Raptor versions duking it out so it would satisfy both fan types. I also combined the old Raptors with the young Raptor from the book, that had chameleon abilities, therefore making these Raptors better to be used in the night attack than the Carnotaurus, knowing that it wouldn't be really that scientific. These are simply the original type of Velociraptor that evolved to be night-time stalkers.

Now, it's very important that we don't make the story too complicated, but we still need some clever scenes that take inspiration from the books and keep the audience at the edge of their seats.

We still need more ideas.

Which is exactly why you shouldn't do it. The general rule of thumb is to assume that your audience doesn't know jack-squat. If you include Utah raptors you'll confuse people that don't know much about dinosaurs. Also, it's sort of a break in continuity, we're so used to seeing velociraptors at 5'6 that they would look goofy if they were 10 feet tall. Not to mention that it would be a pain to try and explain the difference between velociraptors and Utah raptors.

I think having two versions of the same dinosaur is enough. We had two different Raptor genders in JP3, so the idea about two tribes can work.

Nah, I'm just saying two different types of Raptors - don't make it too complicated! But I honestly LIKE the idea of Velociraptors and Deinonychus. If you add Utahraptor VS Velociraptor - it gets complicated because they're both sharing the name "Raptor" which is likely to confuse the viewer/reader.

I'm thinking this because there have been theories on Velociraptors having feathers and Deinonychus being more repitilian looking. So why not? I mean, JP1 already MADE the mistake of having their Raptors too large- and they even DID resemble Deinonychus! And then JP3 went out and bought in a more accurate looking Velociraptor (though they were still large in size).
Anyway, so what do you think of this idea in general? Deinonychus AND Velociraptors? Deino's being the repitilian ones, and the Raptors being the feathered type...? I personally think its not so bad. But hey, I'm open here for ANY and ALL critisism!

Isn't Velociraptor the smallest raptor, and isn't Deinonychus, The biggest, or do I have it backwards? or am I completely off?

What I'm Trying to say is we still need to follow the pattern of the movies.... Why would there be a new speicies of raptor? Know one has been on the Island to create one...... (just say'n)

What I was trying to get at is this. Dodgson Stumbled across this Compound That was over grown and badly out of shape, We find out that Dodgson was actually with ingen (?) (this will leave the audience saying what?) when they came to sorna in JP2 and That he followed the ingen Team as They captured Dinos. he was there to sabatoge the mission and Take it over with an under cover team, that would take the Ship over when they were on there way back to the main land.

This fell through when sarah harding and ian malcom and nick, all sabatoged the ingen compound releaseing the captured dinos. "Damn" says Dogdgson(lol).

So then him and his team of three or four guys set out on a tour to get eggs from the speices, and they came across the compound. and better yet the compound had geothermal electricity and machines and computers that worked and had been sealed off to the out side world since the late 80s. NOW dodgson is taking Baselton and king to see what he has done (which is clean up the compound and get it running)! But there is another secret Dodgson has been slipping eggs out of the compound and not telling any one except for a young girl back at Gutierrez's Lab in Golfito... Now there is a problem on the main land!...... Hows that?

Sorry, but my idea's better. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

What I simply had in mind is that both of the Velociraptors are called "Raptors", both tribes having similar enough looks for the audience to think, "Woah. There's two types of Velociraptor.", giving the movie a new mix of old style and new style. I mean, in the films, the Raptors almost always had a center part, you know, "They move at cheetah speed." and "They can open doors". In my idea I try to give the Raptors a bit more dimensionality and attitude. This could be their way of saying "We evolved into different branches". It happened in JP3, you know. I'm just taking it further.
