When did they abandon Sorna?

Was it the original DNA manipulated Jurassic Park, the return of inGen in The Lost-World, or just the worth-wild running around frantically Jurassic Park III that captured your imagination.

Uh yes that's the reason! And it was kind of after JP. As it was all in secret no-one was supposed to know.

Combining the dates from the novels and movies together does not work. Sorna was obviously abandoned right after the incident at Isla Nublar. Probably a few weeks to a few months. I'd estimate the island was abandoned for 4 years like Hammond said or it was guestimate of how long it had been abandoned for. Either way...It was abandoned immediately after the incident on Nublar.

For those who don't know, every year a list of tropical storms/hurricanes are made into names in alphabetical order by international weather services. Clarissa has never been on the list. Although it is a fictional name, the storm could be based on a true event.

In 1993, the "C" hurricane, Calvin, came really close to Costa Rica and it's Pacific-outlying islands in the beginning of July. This storm could easily be taken as the storm that cleansed the InGen islands following the evacuation of Isla Nublar in June.

Sure, it's not canon information, but it's a decent start for a fictionalized hurricane. You can check out more information at this Unisys website.
