As some of you may know, Doom III has arived yesterday.

I have not really been following its development at all. I did realize that it was comming out, and was thinking of buying it. So i read some stuff, looked at some forums, and some people that got it didnt really seem to think it was ALL THAT. So i changed my mind, figured I would wait till I could at least try it out first.

Well to make a long story short, I ended up buying it today. So far, I am very glad I did.

Some little anoyances, It come in a 4 CD case holder that only has 3 CDs in it, this was kinda scarry at first cause it makes you think you might be missing a disk, there is no indication to tell you that there is not supposed to be a CD there. Not really a big deal, but still I thought they handeled that poorley.

One of the biggest complaints that I read was the game was Dark, like in the "little lighting sence" and this is really true, so far at least there are lots of shadows and you must use your flashlight a lot. Which brings me to another point, you cant use your flashlight and gun at the same time, kinda anoying, but its kinda cool casue you really have to react and be carefull in the dark areas. I have heard that later in the game you are allowed to have the light and gun on at the same time, we will see I guess.

It should be said that I was not following this game, none of the hype or any of that, I knew it was supposed to look good, and it DOES. I have never played the first 2 Doom games, other than a few min. and I am enjoying this game a lot. Dont les that hold you back, casue you dont have to know anything from the first 2 to get the story line right away. (I didnt)

So, if your A gamer, and have a good computer, I highly recomend this game. Play it in the complete DARK, good amount of volume, and it is awsome, scares the crap outta ya.

Pfft, I'm waiting for HL:2. I've heard Doom 3's pretty creepy, but I'll wait until a friend gets it before I even contemplate buying it.

I've really been enjoying it. Admittedly, it's not that incredible when it comes to innovative gameplay, but who really expected a Doom game to be?
It's all about atmosphere and playing with the lights out - and of course nonstop action. And with that, I've been having a lot of fun.

Yeah, lights out is a MUST. I scare the crap outta myself playing this sometimes. Luckily I got over it, for some reason games can really scare the crap outta me. You just have to tell yourself that its not real, after I say that I can go for a long time.

Getting a game isnt like getting a car. I mean think about it, you can get one game, play it, then get another, unlike a car, you usually just stick with the one you got. Unless your rich or somthing. Basically what I'm saying is you can get both doom 3 and half-life2... Its not like you have to choose.

We got Doom 3 from EB for like $2 because we traded in 4 PS2 games we dont play. =) Good times.

To anyone that's been playing actively, how far are you? I just reached the communications building.

The scene with the monster that thrusts its head through the door, "chants," and retracts was mighty creepy.
